Mental Health Education

NAMI Guadalupe County educates individuals, families, professionals and the community on mental health topics. With the unique understanding of people with lived experience, our programs provide education, skills training and support. Participants will not be charged a fee of any kind for enrolling in or attending any NAMI program.

NAMI’s educational materials are based on current scientific evidence. People with mental health conditions and family members of persons with mental health conditions take part in creating and updating NAMI programs. Experts oversee development:

Classes

NAMI Family-to-Family

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, eight-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions.

NAMI Basics

NAMI Basics is a free, six-session education program for parents, caregivers and other family who provide care for youth (ages 22 and younger) experiencing mental health symptoms.

NAMI Peer-to-Peer

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery.

Presentations

NAMI Family & Friends

NAMI Family & Friends is a free, one-time seminar that informs and supports people who have loved ones with a mental health condition. Participants learn about diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation and NAMI resources. Seminar leaders have personal experience with mental health conditions in their families.

Other Presentations

NAMI Guadalupe County offers mental health presentations to various groups including business people and workplaces, civic groups, clergy and congregations, educators and students, health care professionals, law enforcement, and more.
